You’re going to get a quality tattoo at a fair price by a genuine person at Sign of the Times. We pride ourselves in establishing client relationships and seeing you return. We welcome tattoo collectors, first timers, and everyone in between.

Getting started is simple. Review portfolios and choose who you want to work with. We currently have 7 artists and each one of our team members are just as friendly as the next. Artists here work at their own pace, so allow ample time for message response and know that you’re in good hands.
Once you’ve decided who you want to work with, find our Booking section and contact your artist. Put together your request with photo reference and brief descriptions - anything to help convey what you’re wanting done.
-
Each artist handles their own payments and can take cash, card, and electronic payments such as Venmo and Cashapp

Tattooing is the only service here at Sign of the Times. No piercings offered at our establishment.
We currently do not offer walk-in style tattooing however; we do have a friendly lobby you can walk right into and ask questions or look at portfolios. Come on in and check out the shop.
We get asked a lot about this - A professional approach to both the client’s stamina and artist’s focus are the 2 main reasons why we do not offer “tap-out” sessions. A fair price for an appropriate amount of tattooing is what you can find in our studio. Generally, no one sits comfortably for longer than 4-5 hours of tattooing per session and proper planning is imperative to a quality tattoo and a safe experience for the client.

First and foremost - your I.D. - We are legally bound to having you fill your consent form out at each appointment and we cannot do so without a valid state issued I.D. or passport.
Common things to bring to keep you entertained and comfy: Headphones, a fully charged device, snacks and beverages. Some find it comforting to have a hoodie in case you get cold.
Being tattooed can drain your body of its energy so we do suggest bringing something sweet like candy or a sugary snack to help give you that ‘pick me up’ in the instance that you feel immediately depleted.
Think about the clothing you may need to be comfortable while being tattooed. Especially for the particular placement you’re planning. We have shorts and smocks to let you borrow in case you forget to wear something that easily exposes the area of your body you intend to decorate that day. We offer patrician placement around stations for privacy when tattooing intimate areas of the body.

We encourage people to feel confident in their visit to our shop, and for some- that means bringing a buddy. We understand and will accommodate ( remember, that’s 18 and up ) but keep in mind that long sessions can get boring for your guest and depending on the tattoo placement, the furniture you sit/lay on can make the station a bit stuffy for an extra person. If weather is nice, we have a lovely patio for clients and guests - but we encourage you to use your best judgement and know you’re welcome whether you come alone or with your bestie.

All money spent whether you tip or not is a compliment because you chose our shop for our artists.
Tipping is common in tattooing - not because it is expected but because tattooing is a service. Your artist is giving you a one-on-one experience while also performing a procedure involving your bodily fluid. No one at our shop would ever be offended with someone not tipping - so the matter is truly up to you!
People commonly ask us - well what amount is normal? Think of the percentages at the restaurant and consider the time you’ve spent and the specific accommodations your artist made for you. People tip anywhere from $20-$100 and between 10%-20% - anything extra above pricing asked is always considered generous.

Not here at Sign of the Times but in the state of Missouri, yes. If you have identification, a consenting guardian with proof of guardianship and you’re very sure about the tattoo you have in mind- we suggest you visit our friends at Steel and Ink Tattoo Studio
